Don’t forget to breathe!
Your breathe is your BFF.
The best and easiest tool you have to regulate your nervous system.
If you’re feeling anxious, having trouble sleeping or want to smooth yourself, try 4-7-8 breathing.
Inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Do at least 3 round to begin feeling the effect.
Deepening the breath and showering down the exhales will shift you from fight, flight, freeze, disconnect, stress mode (sympathetic nervous system) into rest, digest, connect, relax mode (parasympathetic nervous system).
The more we practice moving from stress mode into relaxation mode the more seilient and less reactive we become.
So don’t forget to breathe!
